Navigating Anxiety and Faith

When Happy Trumps Holy

Great article! I think one reason we so often pursue happiness as opposed to holiness is because we think we are more likely to be good, caring people when we are happy – we pursue holiness by way of happiness. However, true holiness cannot be sought after in our own strength. Pursuing holiness is, more than anything, an act of surrender, so seeking after it by way of happiness will leave us empty-handed most of the time since happiness is so fleeting.
